Narnia: allegory?

1 wrote: The story is an allegory, according to Lewis scholars, of the life and death of Jesus.

Not any Lewis scholars worth listening to. Lewis himself said in so many words it’s NOT an allegory. And the kind of contrived allegorization Crocker is attempting not only doesn’t work, it kills the story. The story works because it doesn’t try to be be an allegory–it’s just a story in which our world is not the only one God created, and God’s Son appears and acts in that story according to His nature and the situation set up by the story. 3 added:

And another post: Graham Greene said that King Kong was a Christian allegory, with Kong as a Christ figure who wanted to take down as many of his killers as he could. So between Narnia and Kong, ’tis the season for Christian allegorizing.

My response:

Is it an allegory? C S Lewis apparently sent mixed signals on this one – see http://jmm.org.au/articles/16422.htm
