From a friend:
In “The Language of God” Francis Collins tells his own story. Collins is an eminent scientist best known for his leadership of the Human Genome Project. He explains his conversion from Atheism to Christianity. In addition to being autobiographical, the book is apologetic (Collins draws on CS Lewis whose writings were important in his journey to faith) and appeals for the recognition of the harmony between Science and Faith. Some Christians will find the book provocative as Collins explains his espousal of “Theistic Evolution” rather than “Young Earth Creationism” or “Intelligent Design”. Despite the scientific credentials of the author, the book is relatively easy for the scientifically-challenged to comprehend. In fact it is too superficial in places. I think it would provide a basis for conversation with seekers who have a scientific perspective. Believers will be encouraged by Collins declaring the reason for the hope that he has.
