Bible Society releases Prince Caspian Bible discussion guide

Bible Society NSW today announced the release of the second study guide in its series The Wonderful World of CS Lewis’ Narnia, to coincide with the release of the film of Prince Caspian.

Prince Caspian is a three-part Bible discussion guide for small groups written by Linda and Robert Banks and based on the CS Lewis book Prince Caspian.

“Linda and Robert Banks have spent many years helping people to understand and creatively use The Chronicles of Narnia and other writings by CS Lewis,” said Bible Society NSW CEO, Daniel Willis.

“In this second book in the series, they build on their experience as authors and communicators to create a study series with strong Biblical scholarship, in-depth questions and practical application.”

In their introduction to the Prince Caspian discussion guide, Linda and Robert Banks write, “CS Lewis called the gospel of Jesus a ‘myth which is also a fact’. I suspect by this Lewis meant that the narrative of Jesus’ miraculous birth, his startling words and deeds, the meaning of his death, and his rising from the grave to the right hand of God, all depend upon human stories and human desires to make sense to us. That’s what myths are — human hopes and dreams explored in the form of stories.”

This book follows a range of other Narnia based resources, published and/or distributed by Bible Society NSW in conjunction with the release of the first film The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe.

Prince Caspian is available from Bible Society NSW bookshop for $6.95. Call (02) 9262 6355 or visit http://www.bibleshop.com.au/narnia. The first study guide for The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe plus TheTruth Inside the Fiction and Prince Caspian can be purchased together for $9.95. See the website for more special offers.
