Cult Mind Control

Steven Hassans Latest book

Releasing The Bonds: Empowering People To Think For Themselves http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/ASIN/0967068800/cultawareinforce
is now available.

(The original title for this book was "Free Them! Breaking the Chains of Cult Mind
Control")

Steven Hassan presents THE state of the art guide on how to help someone involved with
cult mind control. Hassan’s newest book reveals a much more refined method to help
family and friends called the Strategic Interaction Approach. This non-coercive and
totally legal approach is far better than deprogramming and even exit counseling. Topics
covered in depth include: evaluating the situation; interacting with dual identities;
communication strategies for phone calls; letter writing and visits; understanding and
utilizing cult beliefs and tactics; techniques to reality-test and promote freedom of
mind; and planning and implementing effective interventions.

A former cult member (Unification Church), and now a licensed mental health counselor,
Steve Hassan is author of the highly-acclaimed book, and a MUST read for anyone wanting to
understand how thought-reform works:

Drama of the Gifted Child, the Search for the True Self by Alice Miller

This thought-provoking book shows how narcissistic parents form and deform the lives of
their children. The Drama of the Gifted Child helps readers reclaim their lives by
discovering their own needs and their own truth. As such, this book addresses many issues
related to cult-like family groups and the infantalizing dynamics found in so many groups
where the leaders become parental figures. Trans. R. Ward. New York: Basic Books, 1981.

The Subtle Power of Spiritual Abuse by David Johnson, Jeff Van Vonderen.

A good book about religious/spiritual cults, "Spiritual abuse" describes
situations where seemingly spiritual means are used by authority figures in an attempt to
meet their own needs for importance, power, intimacy, or spiritual gratification. Church
members feel manipulated, used and shamed.
