Even though celebrating 60 some time this year, this book stirred me at very deep and important levels…where I needed to be stirred. Truth be known, I sincerely wish I had read this book at a much younger age. Some points and places in my life would have been much different, I believe.

I began reading this book the evening of April 20…and I finished it the morning of April 21. I may have lost sleep that night…but I gained something deep down in me that was almost gone.

In the prior five years, circumstances and situations almost succeeded in squeezing out of me much of what God had placed in my masculine soul. Energy, creativity, passion for watching others maturing in their walk with our Triune God were severely depleted. Then this book came along…and nudged my heart, as a man, in ways that few books have.

Judy, bless her (for this is a book for a woman to read too!), said to me very softly and sweetly after she finished the book, “I wish I had read this book 30 years ago.” We read it now…and are so thankful!

Since typing in the last word of the last paragraph I’ve been thumbing through my copy, wanting to give you a sample of the book. I’d have to type way to much. If you don’t have it…get it. If you do have it…read it again.
