FIVE SECRETS OF A GOOD LIFE

A little warning: sometimes the ads which appear above our articles are, to say the least, suggestive. We do our best to cleanse our website of these: but they are our only source of income.   Thanks for your understanding!

(My current talk/sermon: Watch this page for more…)

~ Learned through 75 years of living, 22,000 hours of intentional (prefer that word to ‘clinical’) pastoral counselling, 55 years of pastoral leadership, visits to 700 churches etc.

Text: Romans 15:7: ‘Accept/welcome one another, as God in Christ has accepted you.’

1. LIFE IS HARD BUT GOD IS GOOD: the ‘theodicy’ question.

2. LOVE – FOR GOD AND OTHERS – IS THE SECRET OF A JOYFUL LIFE : the ‘holiness’ question.

3. DON’T EVER WISH YOU WERE SOMEBODY ELSE: the self-acceptance question.

4. FOLLOW THE TRUTH WHEREVER IT MAY LEAD: the authority question.

5. KNOW WHY YOU’RE ON EARTH AND NOT YET IN HEAVEN: the mission question.

TO SUM UP:  God does not share his love between all of his creatures: he gives all of his love to each of his creatures. God loves you before you change, as you change, after you change, and whether you change or not.  FB picture: a little baby’s foot with the words on the sole: ‘If you don’t believe in miracles, perhaps you’ve forgotten you are one.’ You are an unrepeatable miracle of God’s creation and God’s new creation. God loves you – yes you – as if you were the only one to love. So it might be a good idea to agree with God about that!
