The dinosaurs are dead, thanks to a 10-km asteroid that crashed off the Yucatan Peninsula 65 million years ago… It’s the same kind of event that flattened 2150 sq km of trees across the Tunguska region of Russia in 1908 and the same kind that on the morning of Feb. 15, 2013, clobbered Russia again, this time near the city of Chelyabinsk, injuring 1,600 people and damaging 7,300 buildings.

The Chelyabinsk meteor was 20m wide and exploded with the power of 33 Hiroshima bombs… The meteor wasn’t spotted soon enough, sneaking through the same way that fighter pilots can get the jump on the enemy: by flying in from the direction of the sun… NASA learned about Chelyabinsk in the most proletarian way possible, via Twitter…
