Torah/Noahide Covenants

Netfriend:

Hi all

The covenant of Noah (genesis ch 9) applies to all mankind today, and has laws and rules associated with it. There is a website which discusses this covenant. It is found at: http://www.geocities.com/torahcovenants If anyone is even slightly curious about this covenant, please feel free to contact me for further information.

Response from another:

This is the seven Noahide laws, but you/they fail to explain what the consequences for violating any of them are: BEHEADING. They also totally neglect to mention JESUS, and His atonement for sin.

Why don’t you explain how, under Noahide (aka Noachide), ANY worship or acknowledgment OF Jesus will be a capitol offense, the penalty of which is beheading? Even celebrating (the pagan-Catholic) Christ Mass will be outlawed under Noahide. Why don’t you explain that?

Here are some links for anyone who wants to learn BOTH sides of the story:

HI there

I noticed that you posted a response to my message regarding the Noahide laws at the following URL

I would like to correct your mistaken assumptions

Firstly, as a Torahic Noahide, I do not advocate the death penalty for the transgression of all noahide laws.  The only Noahide law that the Torah prescribes the death penalty for is the law against murder.

And as for mentionining Jesus, I don’t have a problem with this.  If people want to put into practice the teachings of Jesus in their life, they are perfectly free to do so.  The only problem I have with most Christians is that they worship Jesus, which is idolatry, as it violates the first two of the ten commandments.  It is interesting to note that the new Testament nowhere commands a christian to worship Jesus.  The only command to worship Jesus is given to angels in Hebrews chapter 1, and when you look up the old testament quotation this is taken from it refers to God alone and has nothing to do with worshipping a ‘son’ of God.

To close, the Noahide covenant is mankinds only true covenant with God, and the christian new covenant is nothing more than fiction.

Kind regards

In response to your explanation about beheading transgressors from the Noahide Laws a so-called Noahide says he does not personally advocate beheading for any other transgression other than murder.

But right on the Noahide.com site it says that beheading is appropriate for any transgression. So you may want to correct the Noahide’s personal interpretation of Noahide Law.

www.noahide.org — the Lubbavich Rebbe’s site, is clear enough about beheading any 7 Laws transgressors. Including how a single male Jew accuser is enough to get a head rolling.

Many of the other genuine URLs are so elusive though. One minute there, the next back to hyperspace. Especially since they are obscured by so many of the cut-and-paste type sites, hate, ignorant or otherwise. Hard to cut through the chaff without a good additional search term. But there are enough genuine sites to make the matter clear.

Hello

I posted an article on Noahide faith on your ‘John Mark’ ministries board.

I would like to correct a misunderstanding.

I assume you would know that not everyone who calls themselves a Christian is a Catholic.  In the same way, not everyone who calls themselves a Noahide abides by the ‘Talmudic’ literature of which the majority of the Noahides abide by.

As a Torahic Noahide I abide by the rulings and principles of Noahide faith as established in the written Torah (pentateuch) alone.  A Torahic Noahide is not the same as a Talmudic Noahide.

Thus, the Torah specifies in Genesis 9:1-17 the death penalty for murder under Torahic Noahide faith, but does not specifically mandate the death penalty anywere else in the Torah for violation of laws for Noahides.  However, Leviticus 18 & Leviticus 20 should be taken into account in noting how God judged the Egyptians and the Canaanites for their Sexual depravities.

In essence my faith is based on an observation of the ‘Plain Meaning’ of the Written Torah (Pentateuch).  Further, while I hold to the Documentary Hypothesis to some degree in explaining how the Torah was compiled, I understand that within the differing sources lies a unifying core history upon which the sources were based. Thus my observation of the Torah as a whole is not ‘literalist’ or ‘fundamentalist’ but more in line with a ‘moderate’ stance on it.

I hope this explains things.
